The Worthington Trojans wrestling team competed in a pair of matches Tuesday night during a triangular meet in New Ulm.
In a match against the New Ulm, 127-pounder Alex Galvez earned a win via pin at the 4:53 mark. The lone other victory for a WHS wrestler came at 139 pounds, at which Dalton Larson was victorious by a 7-2 decision.
In a match against Marshall, the only points the Trojans picked up were from a Carlos Hernandez win by forfeit at 121 pounds. The Tigers were also triumphant in their Tuesday matchup against New Ulm, as they won 39-25. Marshall is ranked ninth in the state.

Thursday, Jan. 11 will be Coaches vs. Cancer night for the Spirit Lake at Okoboji basketball games. Fans will try and make the gym pink, with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. To support the night, pink T-shirts are being sold. The cost is $10.

Jackson County Central senior Seth Stai has announced his commitment to Northwestern College in Orange City to play football.
Stai earned first-team all-district honors at both running back and linebacker this past season. He gained 1,111 yards and scored 16 touchdowns at running back. He made one interception as a defensive leader who was also named Linebacker of the Year in the South Central Silver District. Stai was voted the AA Player of the Year in Minnesota by SBLive in December.

Volunteers are being sought to help this Saturday with refereeing and at the table during a boys youth basketball tournament in Worthington. Contact the YMCA if willing to help for just an hour or the whole morning as all help is appreciated. All games will be played at the Intermediate school on Saturday.
