Big South lists Wrestling All-Conference Team

Worthington's Chase Byrne has been named to the Big South Conference Wrestling All-Conference Team for the 2024-2025 season.


Byrne wrestled primarily at 189 pounds this winter and was the lone Trojan to qualify individually for last weekend's state tournament.


Several other area wrestlers were named to the team, including multiple athletes from Jackson County Central. They include: Kayden Eller, Kyler Thier, Isaac Rodriguez, Dallas Gossen, Benjamin Dahlin and Ryan Haley. Marshall also had strong representation as Lincoln Christenson, Landon Marthaler, Dawson DeCamp, Tyson Louwagie, Brayden Chandler, Joshua Kraft, Aiden Mattison and Gavin Schafer were all selected. 


In girls wrestling, three Rocks — eighth-grader Ellie, junior Bernie and sophomore CeCe — all earned all-conference recognition. Marshall had five female wreslters honored: Aysia Miles, Traeh Siekmann Adams, Sierra Bahr, Hannah Ratajczak and Esther Say.

Tuesday's South Subsection 3A and South Subsection 3AA boys basketball games were postponed due to inclement weather. The 3A doubleheader will now be at 5 and 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Worthington High School, and the 3AA doubleheader will be at 6 and 8 p.m. Thursday at Windom Area High School.
