Patrick Kroski and Owen Sudenga scored two goals apiece as the host Luverne Cardinals grabbed a 5-0 lead and went on to defeat Worthington, 6-3, in a high school boys hockey game Thursday night.
Elliot Domagala and Blaik Bork also scored for the Cardinals, who took their 5-0 edge into the third period. Blake Luinenburg scored the Trojans’ first goal on a power play, and Konner Honius and Alec Langerud added goals later in the period for Worthington.
Tyler Ahrends made 32 saves in the net for Luverne; the Trojans’ Steven Adams stopped 28 shots. Worthington will be action Saturday against Morris-Benson at 2 p.m. as part of a girls-boys hockey doubleheader that will air on 104.3 The Bridge.
