Record-breaking cold continued around the region on Wednesday, and the day's temperatures established some new weather records as a result.
The overnight low for Wednesday as recorded by the National Weather Service came in at minus-19, which makes it the coldest ever on Feb. 19. The normal low temperature for Feb. 19 is 11 above zero, making Wednesday's low 30 degrees below average.
Additionally, the Feb. 19 high temperature recorded for Worthington was minus-3, which is also a record for the date. The normal high for Feb. 19 in the city is 28 degrees. The average temperature for the day was minus-11, which set yet another record.
Slowly but surely, it's supposed to get warmer. We're forecast to be near 30 degrees on Saturday, around 40 on Sunday, and close to 50 on Monday.
