Current Nobles County COVID infections increase to 102

There are 102 Nobles County individuals with current COVID-19 infections who are within their 10-day isolation period, according to the latest data released Friday morning by the Nobles County COVID-19 Joint Information Team.

Nobles County infection counts as reported by the Minnesota Department of Health on Thursday, Sept. 23 were 4,556 total confirmations, up 18 from the previous report on Tuesday, Sept. 21. There are 4,404 cases that are past the 10-day isolation. A total of 50 COVID-19 deaths have been reported.

The 1020 known, currently-infected residents fall into the following age ranges and are indicated along with the change from the previous report: birth-age 10, 16 (up three); 11-15, 10 (up one); 16-19, eight (down two); 20-25, 10 (up one); 26-50, 34 (up seven); 51-64, 17 (no change); and ages 65 and older, seven (down one).

Area private-vaccine providers in Nobles County, all in Worthington, are: Access Family Medical Clinic/Avera Medical Group, Hy-Vee Pharmacy, Sanford Health, Sterling Drug and Walgreens.

Nobles County Emergency Management Director Tawn Hall noted that the federal government has announced a requirement that employers with more than 100 employees must require their employees to either be vaccinated or be tested weekly. This mandate, however, has not yet gone into effect, and county officials will continue to monitor the situation.
