Bids pertaining to four engineering projects are scheduled to be awarded during Monday's Worthington City Council meeting.
Contracts are slated to be awarded for the Murray Avenue and Centennial Trail reconstruction projects, full street reconstruction for East Ninth Avenue and water and sewer reconstruction on Sixth Avenue. Henning Construction has submitted the low bid for three of the four projects. The exception is the Centennial Trail reconstruction, for which Duininck Inc. has submitted the low bid.
Among other items on Monday's agenda, council members will consider a resolution establishing cannabis business registration fees. During its Feb. 23 meeting, council approved the third and final reading — and subsequent adoption — of an ordinance establishing regulations for cannabis businesses. A section of the ordinance requires that council establish registration fees by resolution, and the proposed fees are $500 for an initial registration fee and $1,000 for the renewal registration fee. These proposed fees are the maximum allowed by Minnesota Statute.
Council members are also scheduled to consider the approval of a professional services work order for construction administration on a new 150-feet by 50-feet hangar at Worthington Municipal Airport. Bolton and Menk's proposed fee for these services, which shall be completed on a lump sum basis, is $85,000.
