Four hurt in Wednesday car-vs.-semi collision

Four people were injured Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Slayton.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2005 Chevy Impala operated by Donovan Wayne Olson, 39, of Pipestone was westbound on Minnesota 30 and a 2022 Freightliner semi operated by Keith Edward Brouwer, 45, of Tracy was southbound on U.S. 59 when the vehicles collided in the intersection. The crash was reported at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.


Olson and two passengers -- Daniel Justin Olson, 30, of Pipestone and Lauren Kathleen Pegram, 28, of Pipestone -- were each taken to Murray County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Another passenger in the Impala -- Kathleen Irene Pegram, 57, of Pipestone -- was taken to Pipestone County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Brouwer, the semi driver, was unhurt.


The Slayton Police Department, along with the Murray County EMS and Sheriff's Office, assisted at the scene.
