Four individuals will be inducted into the Worthington High School Athletic Hall of Fame during halftime of the Trojans’ football game Friday night.
Those to be honored with induction are Dan Klumper, Nicholas Raymo, Sue Gasca and Smitty Ektnitphong.
Klumper, who graduated in 2001, was a team MVP and All-Conference pick in both football and basketball. He was an All-Conference selection in both baseball and track and field, and was the WHS Male Athlete of the Year in 2001. He played football at Augustana University.
Raymo was a football team MVP and All-Conference pick who graduated from Worthington High School in 2003. He finished his career as the Trojans’ all-time leader in rushing yards, season rushing yards, and career and season scoring. He was also an All-Conference pick in both basketball and baseball, and was the WHS Male Athlete of the Year in 2003. He played baseball and basketball at Minnesota West.
Gasca, a 1985 graduate of WHS, was an All-State and All-Conference selection in basketball, and also participated in track and field. She played basketball at Iowa Lakes Community College and the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Ektnitphong was a soccer coach at Worthington High School from 2003 to 2017 and was an instrumental part in starting the girls and boys soccer programs. He led the boys to two Big South Conference titles, two Section 2A finals appearances and one state tournament berth. He was a Section 2A Coach of the Year.
