With Tuesday night’s all sports eligibility meeting at 6 p.m. at Worthington High School, the start of the fall sports season is right around the corner.
The first Trojan team to play an opponent will be the WHS girls tennis squad, which is scheduled to travel to MACCRAY for a match on Friday, Aug. 16. The team’s second match is also scheduled before any other Trojans game -– the girls will host New Ulm at the Worthington Middle School courts on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
On Thursday the 22nd, the WHS volleyball team opens its season with a match at Fulda, while the Trojans’ girls soccer team will play host to Tri City United at Trojan Field. That same day, the girls tennis team will entertain St. Peter.
On Friday the 23rd, the Worthington boys soccer team will open its season at home against Mound Westonka. It plays again the following day at St. Croix Prep, while the girls soccer squad hosts Mankato Loyola and the Trojan volleyball team competes at a tournament in St. James.
A full week of Trojan sports begins on Monday the 26th when the boys and girls cross country teams head to a meet in Marshall. Later in the week, the WHS football season opens with a home game against Luverne.
