Jay Scheidt named to MCAC Hall of Fame

Jay Scheidt, a former Minnesota West Community & Technical College student-athlete and a Worthington High School graduate, has been named as a member of the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Hall of Fame Class of 2023.


As a two-sport athlete for the Bluejays, Scheidt led the MCAC in passing yards during the 2005 season as quarterback for Minnesota West. He also stole 28 bases and recorded a perfect fielding percentage for the Bluejays baseball team.


Schiedt was named first-team MCAC All-Southern Division in 2005 and 2006, All-Region XIII in 2005, National Junior College Athletic Association Gold Glove recipient in 2006 and MVP of the football team in 2005 and 2006. He led the Bluejays football team to a 10-0 regular season as quarterback.


In addition, Scheidt was named to the NJCAA First team All-Academic Team while at Minnesota West and also served the community in several service projects. After finishing his career at Minnesota West, Scheidt transferred to Minnesota State Mankato to complete his athletic career.
