Employees of JBS and Worthington Regional Health Care Foundation Inc. (WRHCF), during a joint meeting Dec. 10th at the JBS plant, announced $245,112 in JBS employee pledges to the Foundation through the 2024 JBS Employee Fall Giving Campaign. This contribution is designated to be used by the foundation, as directed by its Board, for future community projects and programs that come before the board as a grant request.
Said Su Su Pyo, JBS Community Liasion Manager who led this year’s employee campaign, in a press release: “1,334 employees participated in this year’s campaign out of approximately 2300 JBS employees. JBS employees work hard Monday through Saturday and voluntarily pledged their earnings to improve the community for their families and the children of the community.”
Added Mulu Hwase, JBS Community Liasion Coordinator: “I have worked for JBS for 25 years and this year I am so happy that everything we give goes to the Foundation for our community.”
WRHCF Board of Directors Chair Joe Anderson addressed people attending the meeting, thanking everyone involved for their efforts with the pledges.
Anderson added: “Over the past few years I have been able to personally see how the foundation supports various projects that enhance our community. These dollars will be used to continue our mission of making Worthington and the surrounding area a great place to live and raise a family.”
As the foundation has been part of many area community projects and programs in the past, the board looks forward to being involved in more in the future -- in large part thanks to this generous donation from the JBS employees.
Said Elizabeth Briones, JBS Worthington Human Resources Director, in response to the announcement: “I'm so proud to work alongside such a caring group of team members that year after year prioritize giving back to our community."
