Joel Heitkamp has been invited to interview in round 2 of the process to fill the Worthington Independent School District 518 superintendent position.
The interview is scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m. Monday in the Worthington High School Media Center. Heitkamp, the executive director of operations for the St. Cloud Area School District, will spend Monday afternoon touring District 518 schools with building administrators, followed by the interview. Round 2 will include stakeholder participation and feedback, which the district added in a press release "is important in our final decision."
Two other finalists for the superintendent post -- Dr. George Nolan and Dr. Douglas Van Zyl -- had been selected earlier this week for interviews. Van Zyl, like Heitkamp, interviewed Friday for the position. Nolan withdrew his candidacy for the job prior to Friday.
Monday's interview with Heitkamp is open to the public.
