Multiple King Turkey Day activities are scheduled to begin for Friday afternoon in downtown Worthington following this evening's King Turkey Day mixer.
The beer garden opens at 4 p.m. Friday in the downtown pavilion, and there will be music from Gabriel Michael from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Blue Dirt Road from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and IV Play from 9 p.m. to midnight in the pavilion.
Food vendors also open at 4 p.m. on Second Avenue between 10th and 11th streets. Activities that include inflatables in the Wells Fargo parking lot on Second Avenue, Nerf Wars in the JBS Fieldhouse, and a Teddy Bear Mobile and additional kids' activities on 11th Street will be from 4 to 8 p.m. The Lucky Duck race will be at 6:30 p.m. on Firehall Hill.
Saturday is jam-packed with activities, including the YMCA 5K walk and 5K &10K run beginning at 9 a.m. Other popular annual events are the pancake breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the fire hall, the featured speaker (Dave McCauley) at 1 p.m. on 10th Street, the Great Gobbler Gallop at 1:30 p.m. and the grand parade at 2 p.m.
