The Minnesota West Lady Jays volleyball team moved up a spot to No. 2 in this week's NJCAA Division III national poll.
Dallas College Eastfield, which has a record of 24-1, gathered all eight first-place votes and continues to hold the top spot. The Lady Jays, who now have a record of 25-4, switched spots in the rankings with Finger Lakes Community College, which is 22-2. Unbeaten Butler Community College of Pennsylvania is 18-0 and ranked fourth, while Century College — a Region 13 rival of Minnesota West — is fifth in the poll with a mark of 19-3.
St. Cloud Community & Technical College, which the Lady Jays topped in a five-set match this past Friday in St. Cloud, moved from No. 9 to No. 7 in the poll with a record of 15-4.
Minnesota West will play at Rochester on Wednesday and then host St. Cloud Tech at 2 p.m. Friday.

Three games remain left in the regular season for the Minnesota West men's soccer team, which has an overall record of 2-7-1 and 2-3-1 in conference play.
The Bluejays were defeated in their most recent match, 2-1, by Riverland at Trojan Field. Minnesota West grabbed a 1-0 edge in the 37th minute of the first half on a goal by Kaleb Lee that was assisted by Darwin Coronado. The Bluejays led 1-0 at the half but surrendered two goals in the second half.
Minnesota West plays at Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday, then hosts Oak Hills Christian College at 2 p.m. Saturday and Lake Superior College at 1 p.m. Sunday.
