Lady Jays capture second straight hoops win

Dannyn Peterson's 17 points led four Minnesota West Lady Jays players in double-figure scoring Tuesday night, and the Jays captured their second straight win and third in their last four games by defeating the Mt. Marty junior varsity 66-57 at the Center for Health and Wellness in Worthington.


Macie Werdel contributed 13 points off the bench for Minnesota West, while MacKensie Post and Hunter Garcia added 10 points apiece. Peterson also grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and Jadyn Lessman had seven as the home team won the battle of the boards by a 46-36 margin. Post led the Lady Jays in assists with five, and Emily Breske had four.


Both the Minnesota West women and men's teams face road games Friday and Saturday, as they'll play at Northland and Itasca, respectively.
