The Worthington Trojans football team played host St. Peter close for three quarters Wednesday night before ultimately falling to the Saints 30-0.

St. Peter got a TD in the first quarter for a 7-0 advantage, then looked to get a two-touchdown lead in the waning seconds before halftime. The Trojans, however, kept the Saints out of the end zone after they got all the way to the WHS 1, and St. Peter had to settle for a field goal.

Worthington marched to the Saints' 4-yard line in the third quarter but came up empty on a fourth-down play. The Trojans again moved deep into St. Peter territory in the same quarter, but that drive stalled at the 14-yard line.

The score remained 10-0 headed into the fourth quarter, but St. Peter would add 20 points over the final 12 minutes. WHS finishes its season with a record of 1-7 and will play on the road next Tuesday in a first-round section tourney game.
