Marshall woman dies in Saturday crash

A Marshall woman has died as a result of a two-vehicle collision with a semi in Kandiyohi County.


According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2023 Peterbilt semi operated by Roberto Rivero, 33, of Davie, Fla. and a 2917 Honda Pilot operated by Kyan Day, 27, of Marshall collided in the intersection of Minnesota 40 and 45th Street Southwest. The crash took place at approximately 6:14 p.m. Saturday.


A passenger in the Honda, Bu Ko, 51, of Marshall, was taken to the CentraCare Hospital in Willmar, where she died from injuries sustained in the accident. Day, the Honda's driver, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Another passenger in the Honda, Ku Paw, 64, of Marshall, also had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the CentraCare Hospital in Willmar.


The Peterbilt driver, meanwhile, was uninjured. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Willmar Fire Department and Centra Care Ambulance assisted at the scene.
