The Murray County Central girls golf team finished seventh of eight teams in the Minnesota state high school Class A golf tournament that concluded Wednesday.
The Rebels finished with a team total of 867 strokes, including 450 on Tuesday and 417 on Wednesday. Cierra Tutt had a total of 197 for MCC, good enough for 32nd among all individuals. Ellie Meyer had 212, Ava Johnson 228 and Rachel Huso 230.
Among other girls individually, Hills-Beaver Creek’s Tess Van Maanen had a total of 192 to take 25th individually. Brielle Vis of Southwest Christian/Edgerton was 27th at 193 and Ellyson Bang of Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove was 28th at 194.
In the boys state class AA golf meet, Luverne’s Henry Hartquist placed 12th overall with a total of 152. In class A state boys golf, Sawyer Drent of Heron Lake-Okabena-Fulda/Westbrook-Walnut Grove was 29th with a two-round score of 166, and Brock Henning of Adrian/Ellsworth was 37th with 172.
