The Big South Conference Soccer All-Conference teams for the recently completed season have been announced.
Two Worthington Trojans — senior attacker Carlos Castillo and senior midfielder Isaac Perez — were named to the boys team, and two more Trojans — senior defenders Alex Galvez and Maqui Sandoval — both received honorable mention recognition. Marshall, which edged Worthington for the Big South Gold Division title, had five players honored. Senior defender Eli Pedersen, senior midfielder Jared Hernandez and senior defender Jasiel Flores each made the all-conference team, while senior attacker Moo Gay and senior midfielder Mason Graven were honorable mention picks.
For Big South Conference girls soccer, senior Worthington High School midfielder Sahyra Talamantes was named to the all-conference team. Two more Trojans — senior midfielders Cathy Diaz and Fatima Hernandez — earned honorable mention recognition. Fairmont, which completed conference play undefeated and untied, had five players get recognized. Senior forward Kennedy Becker, senior defender Isabella Schroeder and sophomore midfielder Amalia Leiding were all-conference choices, and senior midfielder Grace Simpson and sophomore midfielder Abbie Simpson were each honorable mentions.
