NCE awards more than $20K to area organizations

Nobles Cooperative Electric announces the recipients of its fall Operation Round Up grants.


The Fulda, Lake Wilson and Slayton Fire Departments each received grants for crucial equipment upgrades, which include new pagers, extrication tools and specialized nozzles. American Lutheran Church of Worthington, Chandler Area Quilters Group, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lake Sarah Quilters and Sillerud Quilters and Friends were each granted funds for materials to create quilts for those in need.


Funding was also allocated to improve senior services, including meal delivery for home-bound individuals and wellness programs, at ACE of Southwest Minnesota in Murray County, Brewster Senior Dining and Ecumen Meadows. Grants were awarded to schools for various needs, such as phonics materials, enhancements for drama departments and early childhood initiatives. Those receiving dollars in that area include the Nobles County Child Care Project, Murray County Central Drama Department, Murray County Central Kindergarten, Murray County Early Childhood Initiative, Fulda PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) and Trinity Preschool.


Additionally, numerous organizations including historical societies, 4-H clubs and local associations received support. These include the Nobles County Historical Society, Slayton Women of Today, City of Ellsworth, City of Lake Wilson, Grand Prairie Rockets 4-H Club and Fulda Area Lakes Association.

A total of $20,275 was awarded during this 2024 fall distribution, which means Nobles Cooperative Electric has given $545,363 to local organizations since the program began.
