The Minnesota College Athletic Conference has announced its Fall 2024 MCAC Elite Team.
The award recognizes student-athletes who combined outstanding academic and athletic performance through the Fall 2024 season.
Honorees must have earned MCAC All-Academic honors as well as All-Division, All-Conference, All-Region, and/or All-American honors in football, men's soccer, women's soccer or volleyball.
A total of 69 student-athletes earned this prestigious award, including nine from Minnesota West Community & Technical College. Earning recognition from Minnesota West were: Cohl Becker of Granda, football, Hunter Grathwohl of Fairmont, football; Bryce Nutall of Irmo, S.C., football; Robin Braun of Groeppinger, Germany, football; Petrus Pekkeriet of Veenendaal, Netherlands, men's soccer; Ella Hesse of Tyler, volleyball; Sadie Krahling of Rushmore, volleyball; Ally Nelson of Tyler. volleyball; and Lexi Schreurs of Tyler, volleyball.

The Minnesota West Lady Jays are in the top spot in the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Poll for the second week in a row. Rochester and Northland flip-flopped spots in the rankings, with Rochester now No. 2 and Northland No. 3. Anoka-Ramsey, who the Lady Jays host Wednesday, is at No. 6.
The Bluejay men have dropped out of the Top 15 in the NJCAA poll and are now in the "receiving votes" category. Minnesota West lost both of its games last week.

The Worthington Trojans girls hockey team has earned a No. 5 seed in the Section 3A Tournament and will play Thursday at fourth-seeded New Ulm. Game time is 7 p.m. No. 6 Windom will play at No. 3 Fairmont. Top-seeded Marshall and second-seeded Luverne both have byes.
