Nobles County COVID-19 case rise to 98 within isolation period

Nobles County COVID-19 infections within the 10-day isolation period have increased by 28 from earlier this week, according to data released Friday morning.


Nobles County infection counts as reported by the Minnesota Department of Health on Thursday, Sept. 16 were 4,486 total confirmations, up 32 from the previous report on Tuesday, Sept. 14. There are 4,340 cases that are past the 10-day isolation. A total of 50 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, and 98 people are currently infected and still within their 10-day isolation period. There were 70 cases within the 10-day period as of this past Tuesday.


The 98 known, currently-infected residents fall into the following age ranges and are indicated along with the change from the previous report: birth-age 10, eight (same); 11-15, five (up three); 16-19, 13 (up three); 20-25, eight (up two); 26-50. 35 (up 11); 51-64, 15 (up six); and ages 65 and older, 12 (up one).


Area private-vaccine providers in Nobles County, all in Worthington, are: Access Family Medical Clinic/Avera Medical Group, Hy-Vee Pharmacy, Sanford Health, Sterling Drug and Walgreens.


Nobles County Emergency Management Director Tawn Hall noted that the federal government has announced a requirement that employers with more than 100 employees must require their employees to either be vaccinated or be tested weekly. This mandate, however, has not yet gone into effect, and county officials will continue to monitor the situation.
