November weather was warmer, wetter than normal

November's local weather was a bit warmer than usual and also brought more than twice the amount of precipitation as normal, according to data collected at Worthington's Wastewater Treatment plant.


The average high temperature for this past month was 44.5 degrees, which is 2.7 degrees warmer than the 41.8-degree normal high for Worthington in November. The Wastewater Treatment Plant recorded a high temperature of 60 degrees on Nov. 9, and highs of 58 on both Nov. 3 and 4.

 

The average low temperature for this just-completed November was 28.0 degrees, or 4.8 degrees warmer than the 23.2 that's normal for Worthington. The coolest thermometer readings came on the final two days of the month. A reading of 1 degree was recorded on Nov. 30, and it was 4 the day before.


As for precipitation, a total of 2.93 inches were measured at the Wastewater Treatment Plant this past month, including half an inch of snow. The November average for Worthington is 1.27 inches of precip. Nearly half that moisture — 1.45 inches — was recorded on Nov. 19.


For the first 11 months of 2024, the average high has been 60.26 degrees and the average low 39.5. That compares to typical year-to-date averages of 56.9 and 36.3, respectively.


The precipitation total for the year now stands at 36.70 inches. The 11-month average total for Worthington is 29.64 inches.
