Paid leave information sessions scheduled for Sept. 15

FORWARD Worthington will host a Minnesota Paid Leave information and engagement session from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Sept. 15 at Worthington Event Center.

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Minnesota’s Paid Leave program will provide job protections and partial wage replacement to workers who need time off to care for themselves or a family member. Paid leave is intended to support employees when they need it most and strengthen connections in families, communities and workplaces to improve employee retention, performance and morale.

Employers play an important role in paid leave. To help employers prepare and to answer questions about the new state program, Minnesota Paid Leave Director Greg Norfleet and division staff are partnering with local chambers of commerce across Minnesota for a series of regional, in-person engagement sessions, such as the one planned for Sept. 15 in Worthington.

The goals of the session will be to: provide employers with program updates, respond to questions and gather feedback; share information employers need to make sure they are ready when wage detail reporting begins this October; and connect and establish open lines of communication with employers around the state.

A Spanish session will be hosted the same day from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m.

All local employers are invited to attend. Advance registration is welcomed but not required. Light refreshments will be provided.
