Portion of Minnesota 4 scheduled to reopen today

Minnesota 4 from Interstate 90 to Dunnell, south of Sherburn, is expected to open to traffic by the end of the day on Thursday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Finishing work, including permanent striping and grooving on this section of Minnesota 4, will be completed under traffic in mid-October.

Minnesota 4 from Sherburn to St. James remains closed to traffic until mid to late October. Traffic is detoured to Interstate 90, Martin County 27 and Watonwan County 27.

The Minnesota 4 project between Sherburn and St. James includes roadway, bridge, and drainage improvements. In addition to resurfacing approximately 25 miles of roadway, the bridge over Cedar Run will be replaced and multiple bridges will be repaired. Pedestrian accommodations in the cities of Sherburn and Trimont will also be improved.

The completion of this construction project has been delayed due in part to heavy rains and flooding earlier this year. MnDOT appreciates the public’s continued patience and understanding as crews work to complete the project.

Construction on the project is expected to be complete in late October, weather permitting.
