Register now for Walleye Weekend in the Iowa Lakes

Online registration is now underway for the 42nd Annual Walleye Weekend. The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce reports this year’s event will take place May 4-5.

Given it's the 42nd year of Walleye Weekend, the grand prize will be $42,000 for one of the 10 tagged walleye. There are no changes to the structure of the event this year, and there will once again be a Biggest Walleye Tournament, which is through the FishDonkey app.

People may register at okobojichamber.com. The cost of the tournament is $30 for those 16 and older and $15 for those 15 and younger. The extended contest is an additional $20 that allows participants to continue to fish for one of the tagged walleye through Aug. 31.
