Blake Luinenburg of Reading was victorious Sunday in the IMCA Hobby Stock A Feature 1 race on the second night of the Wild Rose Casino Double Down Prelude to the Super Nationals delivered by NAPA at the Boone, Iowa Speedway,


Luinenburg is now competing in the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, which began Monday and continues through Saturday. He was 14th in the B Feature 4 on Monday and then came in third in Heat 13 on Tuesday.

Four different players scored goals --- with three of them coming unassisted – as the Minnesota West Bluejays men’s soccer team topped Alexandria Technical & Community College 4-3 this past Saturday.


Prince Lebbi scored Minnesota West’s initial goal on an assist from Edgar Carillo to make it 1-0, Bluejays. The match was tied at 1 at the half, and after Alexandria took a 2-1 edge early in the second half, Minnesota West scored three unanswered goals. Carillo, Kaleb Lee and Eswin Hernandez each scored as Minnesota West moved to 2-1-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in conference play.


The Bluejays play at 4 p.m. today at Anoka-Ramsey.

The Trojans girls tennis team was defeated at home 7-0 by Fairmont on Tuesday afternoon. Each of the seven matches were decided in straight sets. WHS, which was also defeated 7-0 at St. Peter last Thursday, plays at Redwood Valley tomorrow.
