The Worthington Trojans girls basketball team was up by four points at halftime, but host Pipestone Area dominated the second half on their way to a 73-51 triumph over WHS.

Pipestone Area took an early 10-5 lead in the first half, but the Trojans quickly recovered and ultimately took their own five-point advantage when Grace Barber sank a 3-pointer while being fouled and then made the subsequent free throw. WHS kept its lead the rest of the half and led 31-27 at the break.

Saige Scheepstra's jumper put Worthington in front 38-32 with 14:39 left in the second half, forcing an Arrows' timeout. It was all Pipestone Area after that, as the Arrows responded with an 11-0 surge and, after a WHS free throw, went on another 8-0 burst for a 12-point lead. The Trojans were never within single digits of the lead again.

Barber topped WHS, now 1-5 this season, offensively with 16 points, and Alaina Feit contributed 11 points and 10 rebounds while Scheepstra had 10 points and eight boards. Jayden Kor had 33 points and 12 rebounds for Pipestone Area, which is 4-2.
