Trojans boys soccer team now 3-0 after 2-1 home win

The Worthington Trojans and St. Peter Saints played a scoreless first half in their boys soccer game Tuesday night, but the Trojans scored twice in the second half and wound up edging the Saints 2-1 at Trojan Field.

WHS had a few more opportunities at the net than St. Peter in the first half. In the second half, it didn’t take long for the Trojans to pounce as senior midfielder Isaac Perez tallied his third goal of the young season with less than six minutes gone by. Then, with 26:27 left in the second half, Dayvin Tomas scored from close range to give Worthington a two-goal advantage. St. Peter made it a one-goal match with 20:45 remaining, but the Trojans held on to improve to 3-0 so far this season.
