Trojans to host boys hockey playoff game Tuesday

The Worthington Trojans boys hockey team will play a home postseason game Tuesday night, as they'll meet Fairmont in an opening-round game at 7 p.m.


The Trojans have the No. 7 seed in this year's Section 3A Tournament. In another sectional game Tuesday. No. 8 Windom will host No. 9 Redwood Valley.


The winner of Tuesday night's Trojans-Cardinals matchup will play at second-seeded Mankato West at 7 p.m. Thursday in a sectional quarterfinal. The Windom-Redwood Valley victor, meanwhile, will play at top-seeded Luverne at 7 p.m. Thursday. Other quarterfinals that night pit No. 3 New Ulm against No. 6 Marshall and No. 4 Mankato East/Loyola against No. 5 Minnesota River.


The semifinal games are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday and the championship at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, all at Don Roberts Ice Rink at Lund Arena on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter.
