The Marshall High School football team meets Becker Thursday in the Minnesota State Class 4A semifinals. The game's scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Tigers have an overall record of 10-1 on the season and have won eight straight following a 20-14 home loss against Waseca on Friday, Sept. 13. Marshall, the No. 3 seed in the south half of the bracket, earned its spot in the semis by downing north No. 2 Byron 21-0 on Nov. 7.

Becker, the north No. 1 seed, has an 11-0 overall record. In the quarterfinals, it broke open a 14-9 game at the half and went on to a 35-15 triumph over Holy Angels.

Another state football semifinal game involving an area team is set for Thursday, as Hills-Beaver Creek looks to keep its unbeaten record alive as it faces Mountain Iron-Buhl at 1 p.m. at U.S. Bank Stadium in 9-Man action. The Patriots, the No. 2 seed in the south, improved to 11-0 last week with a 34-14 win over Border West in the quarterfinals.

Mountain Iron-Buhl is the No. 1 seed in the north half of the bracket and has a season record of 12-0 following a 38-6 quarterfinal victory over Stephen-Argyle Central.

The other state football semifinal game involving a regional team features unbeaten Jackson County Central taking on Kimball Area at 9 a.m. Friday at U.S. Bank Stadium. The Huskies, the south's No. 2 seed, are 11-0 after topping Norwood Young America 34-7 last week in the quarters. North No. 1 Kimball Area, which is also unbeaten, captured its quarterfinal matchup against Moose Lake/Willow River 38-0.
