WHS speech team places second in Luverne event

The Worthington Trojan Speech Team took part in its second meet of the season this past Saturday in Luverne, fielding a team of 24 competitors. 

 

In the discussion category, Worthington took the top three places with Aiden Harwood placing first, Isaac Kinser second and Angela Dailey third. In extemporaneous reading, Austin Kinser earned third place. In extemporaneous speaking, Annika Kinser took fifth place. 


Seniors Lucy O'Donnell and Alondra Leon Flores both placed second in their respective categories, humorous and original oratory. In poetry, MacKenzie Platt took fifth place, and in prose, Alondra Palma Zargoza placed sixth. 


Overall, the team took second place in the large team category. The Worthington speech team next competes Saturday in the 25th annual Marshall Speech Spectacular.
