The Windom Police Department has made an arrest after a New Year's Eve stabbing at the Phat Pheasant Pub and announced the name of the individual who died in the incident.
A man identified by the Windom PD as No Name Given Happy is facing charges of: first-degree murder with intent-premediated; first-degree murder with intent-while committing a felony; first degree assault-great bodily harm; two counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon-substantial bodily harm; disorderly conduct-brawling or fighting; and terroristic threats-reckless disregard risk.
The deceased victim from the incident is Benjamin Matter, 30, of Windom. A 31-year-old Windom resident that had been referred to in the initial press release on the incident as being stabbed suffered non-incapacitating injuries. During the investigation, officers discovered an additional person had been stabbed. That person, a 30-year-old Windom resident, was treated at Windom Area Health and released.
