The warmest high of the month, 56 degrees, came during the 24-hour period that ended at 7 a.m. on the final day of the month and easily beat the previous record high of 44 for the date. At the opposite extreme, there was a high of minus-7 recorded for Jan. 21.
The average low in Worthington in January was 4.3 degrees, or exactly one degree colder than the average of 5.3. The lowest temperature reading came on Jan. 21 at minus-16 degrees. There were lows of minus-15 on the 22nd and minus-13 on both the 19th and 20th.
Worthington received a mere. 01 inches of precipitation during the month of January, a total that was seven-tenths of an inch less than typical. There was only a trace of snow measured; that came on the 10th of the month.
