Worthington Speedway will open its 2022 season on Saturday with a full slate of auto racing.
Pit gates will open at 4:30 p.m., and grandstands at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m., with racing beginning at 7 p.m.
Classes scheduled for action include: Worthington Bombers; IMCA Sport Compacts; IMCA Hobby Stocks; IMCA Sport Mods; IMCA Stock Cars; and IMCA Modifieds.
As part of the opening night, two bikes will be given away to boys and girls ages 12 and younger. This Saturday’s racing sponsor is American Bank & Trust.
Racing will continue on Saturday evenings throughout the summer. A special Sunday evening of racing, Midwest Madness Tour Night, is scheduled for June 26. The season is slated to conclude with racing on the evening of King Turkey Day Sept. 18.
Also set for opening night this weekend is Murray County Speedway, which is set to begin its season tonight in Slayton following last Friday’s rainout. The Jackson Motorplex is also scheduled to open for racing tonight after multiple rainouts. Meanwhile, this season’s third Sunday night of racing is scheduled to be hosted at Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota.
